This episode, I’m interviewing Devon Skeens, a solo practitioner in Louisville, KY. Devon is a young lawyer who started his practice at the beginning of the pandemic. He focuses on family law, education law, and general civil litigation. Prior to attending law school, Devon taught high school government and history for Baltimore City Public Schools through the Teach for America Program.

Today Mr. Skeens shares with us his experience of building a practice during the pandemic, his unusual path through law school, and we discuss the ethics of discussing cases on social media. Here’s my interview with Devon.

Very thoughtful discussion of opening a law firm. I enjoyed hearing about the interesting experience and the ethics question posed at the end was a great refresher regarding the limits of client confidentiality.

The six digit code is not working on the KY CLE site. Can you provide any insight?

    1. Yes. Because it is so close to the CLE deadline, the KBA approved the episode for next year, starting July 1. The code should work then. Unfortunately only have four credits for 2020, but should have a bunch for next year. Sorry for the inconvenience.
